The REEL Approach

(see also Sam Sapin's video "REELmcr: Engaging the community")

The REEL model is a highly innovative method of community engagement, resulting in the development of cohesive, sustainable communities in otherwise socially deprived areas.

Each project follows a process that is tailored to fit the requirements of the group involved, making a huge difference to both the individual participants as well as the wider community, by building trust, self confidence and pride.

REEL looks to develop people by inspiring - talent, entrepreneurial focus, a strong social conscience, hard work and quality productions. The process also equips those participants who have not necessarily achieved their potential through mainstream education with new skills and positive life experiences.

Young people in the North West need the right skills and experience to take advantage of the jobs on offer, it is recognised that these can be hard to come by, however for a number of years, individuals involved in REEL projects have been able to gain hands-on experience and nationally recognised qualifications by working on a variety of projects, added to this REEL is now a recognised ‘Training Provider’ by Learning and Skills Council (LSC).
