A minibus breaks down on the way to a Morris Dancing competition, stranding a group of kids at a derelict minehead. Unaware of the coal mining history beneath their feet, they drink and smoke to kill the boredom. A careless cigarette changes their lives as they are zapped back in time to the day of a terrible pit disaster which killed hundreds of miners and devastated communities. The adventure opens their eyes to the sacrifices of their ancestors and to the local history that surrounds them.
REELmcr in partnership with Creative Industries in Salford(CRIS) and funded by the Coalfields Regeneration Trust worked with the ex-mining community of Higher Folds in Leigh to bring you this magical adventure story.
