Sam's Story
Stage drama performed by Streetwise 2000. Dir. Jacqui Carroll (75mins).
We first meet
Sam at the age of twelve in a pretty life of happy possibilities; a bright
and popular child. Her first major mistake is to witness a crime whose
repercussions take her away from all that is positive and we look on as
she is sucked in to a world where it’s easier to make life long enemies
than casual friends. She sinks to depths we can only have nightmares about
and sadly she excels in this competitive cut-throat underworld. Before
too long, more than one person wants to take her away from it all, for
good.
In very murky waters we present a murder mystery for all, where a bloodied
knife or smoking gun are not the only evidence of guilt….come see,
come judge, come point the finger, but more than anything else, come caring. (Synopsis
by Paddy Wagon)
“Our Sam” was performed at Bury Met, Bury, and Contact Theatre, Manchester, March, 2003.
