Jurrai (Beth) arrives at another new school she’s no idea what her
house selling, job swapping, parents are letting her in for. And with their
eyes firmly fixed on the bottom line and the next ladder step to Cheadle,
they haven’t got a clue either.
Lennox (Ryan) has also lost his parents. His mam to a string of part time
jobs that fail to make ends meet, and a work accident killed his dad. Neither
are finding their abandonment easy and are drawn together when Ryan saves
Jurrai from the bullies, beginning a friendship that should save them both.
The older ones ‘who should know better’ think that they do and
strut the streets with Tupac and Eminem while their love texts fill the air.
In between jobs and rows and making dinner, parents scream advice from the
sidelines but it’s too little too late on this estate. Family planning
just skipped another generation and Jurrai’s parents have bitten off
one property deal too many as she is thrown to the pack.
