A Wicked Trade

A WICKED TRADE

“A Wicked Trade” was written by the second group working on the Revealing Histories project. This group mainly from Central Manchester looked at the Trans – Atlantic Slave Trade, and why it is important that we never forget what happened in the name of commerce and Empire. The partners with this group were Manchester Museum and Whitworth Art Gallery.

Some of the group had originally come from countries ravaged by war, such as Rwanda, so the message of the film; the actions of our ancestors must never be forgotten, was something everyone involved in the project became very determined to see reflected in their work, and although it has funny moments the underlying theme couldn’t be more serious.
